Idle Problem??
When i am at a stop sign or red light the idle seems to randomly studier and it will do this almost every time i am at a stop its been doing it since i bought it about 3 months ago but it didn't bug me but now it is.....if anyone has any info about what you might know whats going on it will be a big help, Thanks
First off, can we get a few details about the car. Second, have you checked the simple stuff, spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, etc?
If it's a 1.8t, that could be signs of a coilpack going.

Well, spark plugs would be the first place I would check. That's a cheap and easy fix. Then check out the coilpacks. Also, make sure you are running a high octane gas; I know my car seems to run a little off if I ever run regular gas.
He said it only happens at idle. Coilpack is all the time. Clean your maf and replace your plugs to start...before you spend more time diagnosing. Maf cleaner and copper plugs total cost $20.00 and its a good maintenance habit anyhow. Get copper core plugs, change them everyother oil change and clean your maf every time you change your airfilter. Maintenance is key and lack of it is usually the cause of most problems.
I also have an 03 b6 1.8t with 72000 miles and 2 weeks mine was doing the same thing i toke it in and at first my machanic said with the b6 models ther was a ecu glitch with cold temp starting witch makes the cyilinders to miss fire which causes the studering it could be that. Or you my have a broken vacum hose which ended up being the problem.
I had pretty much the exact same problem at the same mileage recently. Eventually the check engine light came on, turned out to be several intake/vacuum leaks. The one large hose that goes across the turbo had a huge hole burned through it. After replacing 4 hoses the leak was fixed and the car idles fine now, and the performance increase was massive!
