I'm conceding, you win, the CVT is crap.
Glad to hear the CVT is treating you well. I've had bad experiences at dealers, but good with AoA. They gave me a free tow at 55,000 miles after my clutch grenaded (2 months into ownership...), and whenever I talk to AoA about an issue, I usually get attention. I have given up on my local dealer, and have resigned myself to driving 200 mile round trips to the next closest dealer to get work done. First appointment is next week, and so far over the phone, they have bent over backwards to get my issue resolved at Lewis Motors. Also +1 on the survey link, I'm going to go fill one out.
Turns out it was crap. Audi corporate offered to pay 1/3 leaving me responsible for $5900. I declined. Asked the dealer if they would take it as a trade they said car wasn't worth anything to them with bad tranny (not worth anything to me either). I picked up my car and immediately brought it to a different vw/audi dealer and traded it in. It is now their problem they are a vw/audi dealer so they can repair it for much less than I could have. I now am the proud 2nd owner of a '04 B6 Quattro Brilliant Black w/ black leather only 62k miles. Its beautiful. Top to bottom inside and out it puts my old one to shame. It's Flawless. Word to the wise, if you own a CVT, dump it. Now. My CVT was replaced (factory rebuilt with the upgraded 7plate clutch) 17,000 miles ago and I think $24,000 in transmissions by 70k miles is ridiculous to say the least and I wasn't going to give audi another dollar for that POS CVT transmission.
BTW. Tranny had not failed and exhibited no common symptoms of failure(it still performed great). All there was a low pitched whirring sound which signaled to me failure was inevitable. 10miles? 30k miles? Idk but I wasn't waiting to find out. Also dealer couldn't tell me what was wrong. Only said the noise was coming from the Differential and parts are not available so that's why the recommended a new tranny (thanks for nothing AoA and dealer).
