Default Indicator, Cruise and Wiper Stalks

I've had my B6 for about 6 years now, recently it struck me that all 3 of my stalks, indicators, wiper and cruise are not illuminated at night, e.g. when the headlights are on.

I know I don't have the interior light kit installed on my car, but I just cannot remember if the stalks should illuminate regardless, like many other controls in the car illuminate giving they are quite important controls and logic says they should illuminate by default.

This brings me onto the next question, if others without the interior light pack say theirs do illuminate, where is the bulb for these located, would it be within the steering column? I'm guessing they would share a bulb with some special fibre optic to carry the light to the stalks rather than have individual bulbs in each stalk?

Appreciate anyone that can check their car for me

Regards

Paul

I've never seen a turn signal stalk illuminated, thats why the upper end models use ***** located on the dash that ARE illuminated. I don't think yours has anything wrong with it.
