Default Installed SNUB, what next for driveline slack/shock? 3.0 Quattro

I installed the SNUB and it helped a little. But I still get that slight driveline shock or thud. What else goes on these? Ujoints? Is there another motor mount I need to look at? Where is it located?

I have a 3.0 Quattro!

A snub isn't really a motor mount, per say. I'm not sure on the 3.0 so I'll check Bentley manual and see, but the 1.8t has two motor mounts (in addition to the snub) and a tranny mount.
Changing out those three from stock made a much bigger difference in decreasing driveline slack than the snub did, by far.
Only downside is slightly more vibration (not much, although some have claimed theirs does a lot), and slightly more noise, because the engine is more solidly connected to the car.
But very easily one of the best mods I've done was to swap liquid-filled motor mounts and spongey tranny mount out for more solid ones from 034 motorsport.

Not on a B6 1.8t. You have to remove belly pan. You have to loosen/remove snub (3 allen bolts from block bracket), loosen all motor mount nuts (one top one bottom on each), jack engine up (be careful and use wood to disperse jack point pressure), remove old mounts, put in new mounts, have someone slowly let down engine while you guide mounts in to place (watch fingers), reinstall snub mount and hand tighten only all bolts/nuts on snub and motor mounts.
Then, just like with snub mount install, you start and idle car after a few small revs to let everythig settle and center for a few minutes. Then, tighten all bolts and nuts.
Really a simple operation. Shouldn't take any longer than it does to remove the belly pan.

Tranny mount is a little more involved. Not hard, just more time-consuming.

i guess its pretty easy if you have a jack to jack the engine up... or did you just use the one for the spare tire?

1. I wouldn't use the scissor jack that comes with car for anything. It's not nicknamed the "Widowmaker" for nothing. do searches on other forums and you'll find maybe once a month about someone's car falling flat from those nasty things.
2. If you don't own even a cheap floor jack, then you may not want to be the one working on your car. That's one of the first things to buy when modding, and they aren't that expensive.
