Default Intermittent flashing of oil light

I have a 2003 A4 1.8 T with 57,000 miles on it. I had the oil changed two months ago. Since then, the oil pressure light and accompanying beeping sound have come on three times while driving for about ten seconds before stopping. The oil pressure seems fine -- not too high or low when I check the level. No other issues with performance, engine or anything else. My guess is it may be simply electronic -- it could be a sensor malfunction or shorted wire in the system computer. Any ideas what it might be before I bring it in to the dealer? Thanks.

Oil pressure and oil level are 2 diff things. Low oil pressure can be caused by low oil level, but you ruled that out.

How long have you owned the car and what is the mileage? Has the oil always been changed on time?

I've had the car for 1.5 years. Oil was changed in January 2008 and January 2009. Mileage is 57,000.

Do you know if the oil was changed regularly before you got it? How many miles did you put on it between the changes you did? Has synthetic always been used?

The car was a dealer lease before I purchased it; the maintenance report shows regular oil changes with synthetic. I put about 5,000 miles on it between changes.

I was going to say oil sludge, but it sounds like everything has been done correctly. I would suggest checking the oil pressure sensor, but I don't know where it is.

Thanks. I spoke with a service advisor at Audi and am bringing it in this weekend. Will report back. Thanks for your time.

I just went thru the same excercise on my 04 a4 3.0. Was told that the oil pickup screen was 25% plugged. Yes I change the oil every 5k miles.
