Default J1 coilpack recall

Took my 02 A4 3.0 Avant in for service and they said my car needed the new J1 coilpack recall! All 6 replaced for free! not sure what B6's fall into the recall but you might want to check into it!

Took my '02 1.8T in to the dealer a week or two ago because I was getting to the end of the notification window listed on audicoils.com and hadn't heard anything yet. They inspected it and said it was good to go without changing anything, so I guess it must have already had the updated coils (replaced by previous owner or something?). Sort of a wasted trip, but still, peace of mind, and they're only a few miles from me anyway.

Default Am I too late?

Just bought an '03 A4 3.0 Quattro. If I take it to the dealer, will they check and/or replace my coils? Or do I have to be the original owner?

theyll check it regardless,as long as your vehicle is affected by the recall. check your eligibility at audicoils.com

I took my 2003 A4 3.9 MT6 in because it was showing a CEL and the coilpacks were fine -- but they told me they had to replace the catalytic converters. Fortunately I was just under 80k miles and they did it under warranty. The previous owner did not have the coilpacks replaced because he provided all repair documents from the dealer.

I had to have the coil packs replaced on my B-6 last year under the mandatory DMV recall just so I could get the proof of correction cert and register my car. What do I see again in this year's registration renewal notice, I have to provide ANOTHER proof of correction cert! I certainly hope that the ARB and DMV don't have me do this every time I need to register the car. That would be such a PITA!
