Can you program one first and then the other? Or they don't stay sync'ed?

 

Just bought an 02 only one key and remote, no valet, what to do and how

02 A4 Quattro 1.8T 5 speed

 

I tried all of these but i still could not get it to work, replaced all batteries, went to dealer and they told me how to do it. tried it but nothing. has anyone ever heard of these just going out? i would imagine on such a well built car that something like shouldn't go out so easily, hell my 84' f-150's power door locks still work.

any thoughts??
