i may be answering my own question here but i have an a4 04 tdi and noticed a knocking noise from the passenger side front when i go over pot holes or any hole. sounds like a strut top or track rod or ball joint etc end if i think back to the noise ive heard before on cars years ago. Is this the issue? if track rod end does my car have the ones that screw in or is it on a full arm. best way to check please help thanks

 

It definitely could be a ball joint or control arm that's loose. Maybe even a shock. Time to put her up on jack stands and do some investigation.
