Default Left flasher acting burnt out but isn't

Hi. Newbie here. 2002 A4 1.8T Quattro.

My left front flasher blinks fast like it is burnt out. I have replaced it twice just to be sure, still blinks fast. The rear and side flashers both work fine, it is only the front that is the problem. Any ideas on what I could do? Thanks in advance!

is ur drl light on when ur headlights are on. Could be the other filament that is burnt and not the signal.

Sorry, I don't know what drl light means. Newbie, haha.

I did notice last night that the light works in almost all cases except when being used to signal and when flashing when I unlock the car. It's on when just the parking lights are on, it's on with the headlights, etc. Does that help?

Thanks

Pull out the socket that houses the bulb. Then pry out the metal contacts in the socket on the inside & outside. It should cure your problem. I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago. You can check it by swapping the socket with the one on the otherside.

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. That worked perfectly.

I wasn't sure what you meant by the contacts on the inside but I pried out the contacts on the outside and that did the trick!

Thank you again.

The inside contacts are the ones in the slot for the bulb. They contact the wires on the bulb. Glad you got it fixed.

And DRL means.... daytime running light. I don't think 2002 A4 has it.
