Default License plate bulb

My right rear license plate bulb went out and I saw on ecstuning that they have the LED conversion kit. I figured for the price why not just get both license plate bulbs replaced. So I did that and the right one still doesn't light up. I thought maybe the LEDs were to blame so I used the stock assembly and got a new bulb (non led) and put it in and it still doesnt work. I checked to make sure it's making contact with the 2 metal pieces on the car. Any ideas? I dont think its a fuse or both would be off, right? Has anyone come across this or have any ideas?

Thanks

You need to buy the whole lense and bulb plastic assembly. Mine were both shot as the metal all corrodes and crumbles apart so no longer makes contact. They were like $30 each if I remember. Comes with the plastic housing and a bulb. With the new housing you can then use the LED bulbs if you have them. New bulbs and lenses were plenty bright once I got them in so I didn't feel the need to go LED.

Thanks for the response. I actually do have the entire assembly. That's why i'm kind of confused because the metal is brand new.

I had a similar issue when trying to replace one of my bulbs. I think one of the metal prongs on the bulb holder was bent down at a weird angle so it didn't contact the metal in the housing above. You can try bending it out a little farther so it reaches up higher, maybe it just isn't hitting the contacts like mine.

try to clean the contacts on the holder and inside the housing. Also leds are funny. U might just have to swap the bulb backwards and it might turn on.
