Looking into buying an A4 Avant Quattro
Hey all, first time poster, long time reader.
I've recently been looking for a new vehicle to replace my Ranger, and have been seriously considering Audi's.
This is the one I found: http://newlondon.craigslist.org/ctd/2466561351.html
Now this owner also had a 2002 sedan non-Avant Quattro edition too (Asking 5300 with 150k miles, same drivetrain). We test drove both. On cold startup, the wagon was loud, like a diesel truck almost, but I've heard that's common due to oil pressure building up for the cam tensioners. Is this true?
Also, the top end on the wagon seemed to be louder than on the sedan, I checked the oil level and it was fine. Could this have been due to a missing engine cover? I don't recall if it had one or not.
I'm seriously considering the wagon, as I like the looks and practicality. It would make it easier to move stuff to college and back home for vacations, and to transport my bmx bike from park to park.
Any input is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Before you get to audis think good man. Ask him to show all the records of maintenance, what services he has done to the car. Ask him when he has change the timing belt because with this many miles 164,770 looks like need a new one which that will cost you up to 1000$ if you need to change it. Don't just look at the car from outside and what description he has wrote on crag list take it to a mechanic for check, parts aint cheap.
