Thumbs down Low oil press woes!!

Need some advice guys. Just purchased an 04 Ultrasport 6spd with 99k miles. Bought it privately for 9500, the guy supplied all the maintenance docs that were done to it. Car drives great with no CELs. Scanned it with my vag today and had two MIL's P0300 and P0301 cylinder one misfire. I cleared both and have been driving it w/o them returning so far. Also found a small coolant leak at the flange neck going into the cylinder head, this was just replaced at 88k and is now leaking again.

So I looked through some of the maint receipts and saw that it was recently in the shop for the infamous low oil pressure light. They diagnosed and resolved it BY replacing the pcv valve system and lines that were making a nasty vacuum leak. This cleared the issue supposedly.

My issue is should I still replace the oil pump and pick-up line/screen to be on the safe side? I did some research and found that the pcv system can cause a low-oil pressure light. Any other way to diagnose this without dropping the bottom-end? Should I Vag oil pressure and see what its putting out?

Any response and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Really pa4ul? You wouldn't change those parts to be on the safe side? It's killing me not knowing what I bought. I hate to spend the cash but if its going to save me an engine and sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck it's worth it to me.

I called and spoke to a rep at the vwoilsludgesettlement.com and they assured me I would be reinbursed for the bill even though the court ruling hasn't been officially settled yet if I can prove an oil sludge cause. I called the shop that the car was last serviced at and they said they recommended that the previous owner get this work done but he declined and then got the vacuum lines replaced which apparently fixed the issue. They took the valve cover off and checked for cam journal damage and found nothing and also cleared the top end of any sludge saying it was very clean. However they did not drop the pan to check the bottom end like they should have.

Should I wait for the CEL or get it done?

I'd get the work done and file the claim for reimbursement. It seems pretty solid that you will be reimbursed.
