Low whirring noise when turning left
Hi all,
Let's say I'm on the highway doing about 75mph and the road curves left as I'm in that left curve I hear a low pitched whirring noise in my front end and it always goes away when I straighten the car out. I don't get this noise when I'm in a right turn. Could this be a sign that my CV joints are starting to wear out???? There's no clicking noise and I don't feel any vibration on the steering wheel or any of the pedals sooooo I'm abit confused as to what it can be. Does anyone know what this could be???
Thanks

Double check by finding a big parking lot and steer lock to lock under acceleration - doesnt need to be fast, just under load.. If they're going, you'll hear 'em. Could be wheel bearings, the the AWD, or just the tires themselves.
This means make sharp turns with the wheel turned as far as they can in one direction, listen for noise, and then repeat with the wheel turned in the opposite direction. I recommend that you do this from a stand-still, get in gear and accelerate with the wheels turned all the way. There is no need for speed for this test.
