ok so i hooked up my Vag-com read the engine code...random misfire and misfire in cyl3. i switched the coilpack from cyl3 to cyl 2 cleared the code. still misfiring. switched the plugs from each cyl, cleared the code and im still getting a misfire. what are the odds that my injector is not firing? and how would i test that. is there a way i can clean it myself without that stuff you put in your gas tank. like can i take it out and soak it in seafoam?

second. just about 2-3 days ago i started hearing a very light tapping noise over cyl 3 (rear cylinder on the passengers side.) so i searched on the forum and found that the 3.0L has some problem when it hits around 80,000miles. the cam lobes on the passenger side basically disappear.and thats what the tapping is from, from what other people have said.

i removed my valve cover and everything looked fine. no scoring on the lobes, all lobes are intact.

what are the odds that what im hearing is a small exhaust leak maybe blown an exhaust gasket on the passenger side or the gasket between the header and the cat? either way i heard that its a bitch to get to regardless i need to drop my front sub frame a little bit or some stuff like that.

Hmm... a little tricky. Any other info on the sound? does it sound metallic, like a thud? like a tick tick tick? or like a puff? A small recording of the sound?
