need to advise
Well, if you're talking about a stock 2.7T, that makes 250 HP. For about $1000-1200, you can have your 1.8T making roughly 230 HP; 250+ HP would mean going to a bigger than stock turbo, which would probably double that cost. The question is can you find a GOOD used 2.7T to swap in for $2500 or less, including the labor of doing the swap and any extra parts you may need to accomplish it?
I can't answer that for sure, but I'd bet that as long as you're just looking for that mid-range power level, modding the 1.8T is probably the more economical option. If, on the other hand, you're looking at a money no object max power situation, well, the 2.7T has 1.5X the displacement - it will of course be capable of a higher maximum amount of power than a 1.8T if you're willing to throw enough money at it.
Regardless of that, if you decide you're really set on the 2.7T, it's probably better to just sell your B6 A4 and buy a B5 S4, as then you wouldn't have to deal with a swap at all...

Unless you're getting the engine next to free, not worth the headaches and $$$ spent. Either go big turbo kit on the 1.8t, or trade for a B5 S4 or C5 A6 2.7t if you're not affraid of the maint on that engine. Engine has to be pulled to change the turbos. Awesome engine though.
That's the thing I have a buddy to do the labor next to free but the headache right like you said is finding a cheap 2.7t which makes me think about what you guys said just trade for a b5.... but Idk I'm really into the b6 body style idk...
Well, if you're stuck on the B6 body, then I assume there's some sort of budgetary reason why you wouldn't just go for a B6 S4. Given that, the 2.7T is not going to be feasible either, and it would therefore make more sense to go with something like an APR Stage 1+ or K04 kit to get similar power to the 2.7T without taking the time, effort, hassle, and money to do a swap. (I have no affiliation with APR and I'm sure other companies can provide similar kits - I just happened to know of the APR ones.)
