Lightbulb Need info about reliability of a Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T

I have never owned a Audi before I'm a Honda enthusiast over 12 years but my wife has owned a 99 Volvo s80 twin turbo and that was junk lol repair hog. So my question is how reliably is buying a Audi A4 1.8t Quattro 5 speed with about 120k miles? is it gonna cost me more in repairs then it's worth on kbb ?

Btw heard this forum has the bet Audi enthusiast around.

Default audi worth owning?

what year is it? Private owner selling it? read the post about 'things that break on all audis.' were you capable of making the repairs on the volvo? Here comes the controversial statement - I'm guessing the repairs on the audi would be very similar to your experience with the Volvo. I've got a B5 (185,000 miles) and a B6 (117,000) in the driveway right now and I have to keep an eye on them but I love them.

I haven't found a Audi yet but this model is what I'm looking at purchasing a 02-05. The Volvo I bought with 85k but at 110k it started falling apart like needed new shocks all around, needed both axles upfront, busted coolant resovoir, abs module replacement, replaced all engine and transmission mounts, and before I traded it in it needed to replace the rack n pinion what a headache that car was.

Default buy from an individual seller

take your time and find a loving owner who hates to let her/his car go. both volvo and audi should run forever (150,000 +++ miles), if taken care of a little bit. good luck, and be careful with your purchase. and I'm driving around with many of the things you mentioned. you need to find a good mechanic because you can always replace EVERYTHING on these special cars, if recommended by the shop. The only thing I'm going to repace on your list is the coolant res. but it is leaking slowly.

If you can't work under the car, forget about it. you can't afford an audi. get a focus.

I never owned an audi before my 03 A4 1.8t. Right after I bought it the water pump went out and I had to replace it myself because I coudn't afford to take it in and have it replaced. I wouldn't buy it without realizing you will put money into repairing it. I could tell you it's worth every penny to keep them maintained and running properly, but I'm biased. I love these cars and I will probably never drive anything else again.
