Need More Power
I have a 2004 A4 Quattro 1.8L with the tiptronic automatic transmission. I love the car and really enjoy the great gas mileage. My only complaint is that it doesn't really have the power I was hoping it would. I know there are options for boosting the HP, but with an automatic transmission I know I am somewhat limited. Has anyone else upgraded their A4 with automatic transmission and if so, what offers the best bang for the buck? Most of the kits I have seen for sale online are for manual transmissions only.
Thanks,
Kevin

Make sure the car is functioning properly first. Part of your problem is the automatic trans does seem significantly slower.... there is a natural delay in throttle response from throttle by wire but the automatic has a delay in shifts designed for comfort. So no matter how much HP you add you will always have that initial delay.
A man / trans swap isn't practical. So your only real choice is a chip. But you have to be careful as not overboost

Do a google search, or a regular search on this forum or on Audizine, for Stage 1+. From what I've read, that will give you the best bang for your buck without having to start replacing a lot of parts. If I'm not mistaken, Stage 1+ involves a chip and larger fuel injectors.
