You were close.

Go to this link at ECS, and you'll see that there are three different PCV service kits depending upon your VIN.

I had to buy the lower hose separately. I needed this but you may need this other one depending on your VIN.

this sounds pretty simple but is the vin right on the pcv valve? or is it on each hose?

The VIN is your Vehicle Identification Number, which can be found just above the driver's side windshield wiper as you look through the windshield from the outside in. You could actually call ECS Tuning and give them your VIN and they should be able to get you all the hoses you'll need.

I couldn't find a DIY on replacing these on the 3.0, so maybe you could take your time and be the first person to post a DIY on how to do this.

Just be very, very careful when replacing these hoses because they don't "give" at all. Do not try to bend them to get that last 1/4" distance.

I haven't taken the time on my B6 to see how much of a PITA this job will be, but I replaced the entire crankcase breather system on my B5 with the 2.8, and that was about a 9/10 on the PITA scale. But, I was able to get it done and I saved myself multiple hundreds of dollars in labor.

Good luck!

Just as a heads up... I wasn't planning on replacing the lower hose BUT I broke it (by looking at it ) and had to remove the throttle body to get access to the bottom connection. So you might as well get a can of throttle body cleaner and clean it while you have it out.
