Man, changing the breather hoses on the 3.0L looks like a tough job. I broke the clips on the PCV valve housing and decided to replace it last night. It sucked! The only good thing is that I was able to clean all of the yellow/brown sludge out of the valve and housing and a little out of the breather hoses... so I feel good about that, but holy **** its not fun messing around with the Evap/crankcase ventilation system on that car. Anyone else have yellow sludge build up in their PCV valve???

lol yeah man thats why im changing them is because of the yellow gunk. im trying to see if theres a way i can just clean them out for now till i can buy them cause for my car they are $270 which is a lot for some plastic hosing. im trying to see if i can use a solvent to get some of it to break down and try to scrape it all out without damaging the hoses with either the solvent or whatever i use to scrape out the yellow ****. but the hoses are very fragile and hard to remove due to the location.

I'm wonder if there is any difference between Mfg Part#06C103217G and Mfg Part#06C103217H? I have 2004 a4 Quattro v6, which calls for Mfg Part#06C103217G. However, indie shop installed Mfg Part#06C103217H. Any difference between one ending in H and other on ending in G? Should I be worried? Can my engine be damaged from wrong part? Brought in because dealer said valve cover gaskets were seeping oil . Shop replaced last year so warrantied work, but said it probably was breather hose assembly, so it replaced with the one ending in H.

Call ECS Tuning and give them your VIN and they will tell you what one you will need.
