Angry New CTS did not fix it! Damn!

My temp guage has worked off and on for weeks. I finally took heed and ordered a Coolant temp sensor, clip and O ring. I finally got to put it in with out much problem. Just a tight sqeeze like everyone said. It worked right off the bat. When I got home I felt good about it until I got back in the car a couple of hours later and it didn't work AGAIN! I wiggled pushed pulled to make sure it was in right and it is in as good as it can be.... It still doesn't work. WTF is going on? I really thought this was it. Any suggestions on what else it could be? This car is starting to test my patients...

Do you know if the coolant is circulating in throughout the system? If there is no circulation, the temp sensor won't read accurately.

Its cycling alright... I think it is in the cluster. The guage works when its cold and does not work when its warm... I wish I had the answer w/o tearing out the panel first.

Its possible its the 2nd coolant sensor... Get under the car, on the driver side towards teh bottom of the radiator, there is another coolant sensor... But be careful, this one will cause all the coolant to come gushing out, so be prepared with a bucket to catch it and make sure to have new fresh coolant once you have replaced that coolant sensor (same sensor)

I told the mechanic about what you said today when I dropped the car off. I hope that fixes it... Thx!
