New Oil Level Switch caused Audi A4 to be Stuck in Park
On my 2003 Audi A4 3.0 (B6) I have had the Yellow Oil Level Sensor light coming on for a while so during my last oil change I added a new Oil Level Sensor. After it was installed the Oil Level Sensor light went off but now the car is stuck in Park. The Shiftlock Solenoid is not letting me out of Drive. I disconnected the wiring to the new Oil level Sensor and was able to shift when it was disconnected. If I reconnect it, the car same thing happen causing me to be stuck in park.
I thought it might have been something tied to the new oil level sensor so I replaced the new one with another new one and am having the same issue.
Does anyone have any knowledge as to why this is happening and if so what steps are needed to rememdy the problem?

Additional findings after playing around with it. I went back and put on the original oil level sensor that was on the car giving the Yellow Oil Level Sensor light and now that one locks the shifter into Park as well. I played around with the wiring connected to the sensor with another person sitting in the running car and by wiggling the wiring they were able to move it out of Park. When I stopped wiggling the oil level sensor connector wiring it would lock it again in what ever position the shifter was in so I believe it has to do with wiring. Instead of replacing a complete wiring harness am I able to get a seperate wire for the oil level sensor only and run it where it needs to go?
