No communication with ABS - even after module repair
Car (2006 B6 Cabrio) had no communication with ABS module in VCDS, ABS dash light and blinking red BRAKE. Also speedometer quit working (and brake lights went out). Sent out the module for rebuild. They found and fixed common issue. Installed, codes reset and short drive, still same symptoms.
What are suggested troubleshooting steps? Any hidden fuses? Any involved fuses that are not ABS specific (i checked those on drive side door/dash that are ABS indicated (and most if not all in the location).
I had 'brake switch' fault, replaced brake switch (no fault now).
I topped of the brake fluid (I think red blinking 'BRAKE' among other causes is also indicative of low brake fluid). Can the brake fluid level switch be tested, or disabled (connect to ground or leave open) to rule out bad level signal? But that would not prevent communication with ABS module (nor would bad wheel speed sensor).
Maybe I should note: car came with aftermarket radio. But VCDS scan does not show "K band pulled down". Anything I should/can test to confirm radio is not messing with ABS module communication?
Going through wiring diagrams now and would like to check fuses.
Where do I find:
S7 (fuse in holder/relay panel), 10A. Driver side dash side fuse panel? S13 (fuse in holder/relay panel), 10A. Driver side dash side fuse panel? S14 (fuse in holder/relay panel), 10A. Driver side dash side fuse panel? S123 (fuse 1 for control module ABS, 40A "H" S242 (fuse in fuse holder), 25A Ground connection on front of apron (2 wires).
