I'm under the impression that my 2003 A4 Quattro should have audio cues, such as the alarm acknowledgement when you hit lock on the keys twice, a dinging when the door is open or you leave the lights on, etc.

Is this just not a feature of the car or do I need to replace something? I'm bad at shutting off the lights before I go inside my house (rain, not at night) and I can't help but think there should be some audio cues from the car that got disabled or something.

I can't test the car alarm because the previous own apparently decided it'd be cool to rip off the alarm button from the key fob.

 

Quick update, shoved a small piece of metal in the key fob and nothing but blinking lights from the car alarm. It's either disabled or something is wrong, I don't really know.
