No spark
Hello everyone,
I'm experienced with Hondas and Acura and wanted to try something different. I just got myself a 04 A4 Quattro 6 speed a few weeks ago. The car was driving fine until I fueled up (3/4 tank) at a gas station. Then I went to my local parts store (which is across the gas station where I fueled up) and heard one of the employees tell a client that was next to me, not to get fuel from that gas station because the fuel had moisture in it. I did used 93 octane but after that, the car hesitated at startups. The next day I went to crank it and it took several tries until it started up. yesterday on my way home the car started to hesitate while I was driving it and at idle. It had a misfire on all cylinders. I was low on fuel (35 miles range), but I parked it and now it wont turn on. It cranks but does not start. I tried spraying starting fluid through the throttle body and nothing.
I did not hear the humming from the fuel pump priming the injectors, so I took the fuel rail out with the injectors still on it and crank it. they sprayed when cranked but not when I turned the key to the accessory position (II) ( don't know if this is normal on Audis) so, I can't tell if the fuel pump is good or faulty.
Also, I took out one ignition coil with the spark plug still attached and grounded it to the valve cover and I have no spark in any coil.
I bought 4 new ignition coils and the problem persists.
Any ideas of what could be causing the problem and what to check? thanks you.
