So i have a 03 a4 1.8t fwd 5-speed 128k miles. A few months ago it started acting up and i just tried to sell it but everyone is trying to offer me like 1500 so im just going to fix it. I looked up a bunch of things and it said to check at the relays in the ecu box. I opened it up and the entire lower box had a thin layer of rust from where the water was sitting. I pulled the relays and they were all rusted. The car has now sat for like 3 months and when i went out to try to start it again, i charged the battery up, put the key in, and nothing. It has plenty of power but when you turn the key nothing happens. I disconnected the ECU at one point and tried to put a different one in. when nothing happened and i put the original ecu back in is when it wouldn't even turn over. would that have something to do with it?

I am going to replace all 3 of the relays in the ECU box just to be safe. I was told it may also be something to do with my comfort control module? Is that the one under the dash? Which is the one under the drivers side floor mat? I pulled the carpet up and there was some moisture in there.

If anyone has any ideas please enlighten me.
