Default Po118

When i turn the car on, the fans turn on automatically, running constantly. OBDII code comes back with PO118...any suggestions what could be wrong? checked the sensor seems to be working fine, however maybe its something i'm overlooking? any help would be great thanks.

Coolant temperature sensor maybe??? That's what the code is for, it could also be your fan control module but that normally keeps them running even when the car is off. Check this link: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/audi-a4-8/p0118-engine-coolant-temperature-circuit-high-input-2960/ you should be able to find something there.

we tested the sensor it responded well, heat applied the engine "overheated" left alone the engine cooled so that the sensor moved back to the start. after letting the car rest a while sensor back in place, the fans turn on immediately and do not turn off, do you know if there is another sensor that i should be looking at, someone told me that there might be on on the radiator?

I know there's another sensor down there on the lower hose or something like that. I'm not exactly sure where it is but is there. Try to contack Auditech79 and ask him, he's been doing this for a while.

u might have a crack in ur ecu housing. I believe this is what tends to happen when water or moisture builds up in there.
