I saw a car the other day and they had exterior LEDs on there door handles when they unlocked theyre car they came on which looked extremely good. Anyone know of a way to do this without drilling holes through the door etc?

The easiest way would be to get a small strip of 5050 led strip from eBay...
(300 led per meter, IP68 weatherproof rating)
These would work
Wire them up (RGB all go to ground, +12 goes to "power")to a flat ribbon cable (like a computer hard drive cable)... the smaller the better... and run them the front or rear hinge hole. THe smaller the wire the better (obviously) and since LED's don't use much amperage, don't worry about the wires burning up.
The HARD part is gonna be running them through the doors. Once inside the cab, I would run them to the rear overhead map lights. There's a connection in there that activates the map lights when the main front dome light comes on... conviently when the car is unlocked. They would however, also come on whenever you manually turn on the main dome light in the front.

But there ya go!

 

yes just like that, your right its going to be hard to run it through the door, would have to take the whole door apart im not sure if it would be worth it
