Question for the 3.0L Owners....
In the morning when I start it up, even after sitting a couple of minutes but more so in the morning, I got what sounds like rod knocks almost like I just did an oil change. Is this normal or is this something I should get warranteed?
Well, rod knocks.... No, that would be bad. Mine does the little valveclatter noise. It is just a few seconds of little clicking noises. I park my car for four or five days at a time, so it does it a lot for the first few seconds.
that's just valvetrain noise for a little bit before oil is pumped to the top of the engine during start up. its nothing to be worried about unless the noise doesn't go away after about 5 seconds or so.

The noise is a normal function of the 3.0L, its mainly the cam adjusters at the end of each cam shaft that are chattering because there isn't any oil in them upon start up, once the oil gets fed through them they quiet down.
The reasons they stopped making them is overwhelming customer complaints, ranging from loud noises, snapped timing belts, coolant leaks from a poor design on the rear cross over pipe, cat converter failures which cost on average $3500 to replace, things like that.
