Default Question about the gap of the plug

I am wondering the gap should be depends on the engine or the brand of the plug?
Since i am try to replace the plugs by myself first time, somebody said it is 0.32" for the 1.8T with chipped. What does chipped mean here?

means that the ecu has an aftermarket software installed(aka tuned), this can be done with either chipping it(physically removing and or soldering in the new eeprom chip with the tuned maps on it), or by flashing the ecu via the OBD2 port.

plug gap .032 is good for stock or mild tune. only time you decrease the gap is if you think the amount of boost you are running is causing a spark blow out.

reducing the gap will make the plug slightly hotter.
