Unhappy R/F axle inner seal?

My shop tells me that I need a new "R/F axle inner seal" because there is a heavy oil leak. Not sure if this means rear, front, or both? Is this normal for an 02 A4?

Cost is $64 for the part and $300 for labor - sound reasonable?
Thanks!

Sounds about right. I had to replace both of mine recently. They had been leaking for a while.

R/F probably means right front. I have a 03 A4.

Yup, you're right - R/F meant right front.
I am going to see if I can get it covered under my pre-owned warranty - doubt they will go for it though, I expect it will be a "normal wear" item.

My extended warranty covered it so perhaps they will.
