Default rear bumper advice

so this is kind of a bummer but on my way to class some douche clipt the back of my car. mostly the rear bumper, a few minor scratches to the fender. anyways his dad owns a body shop and said his dad would fix it in a day or someshit. should i do that or go threw insurance?
which can i get more out of?

anyways my main question i want a sick new rear bumper. where should i go?

People always tell others to call the cops right the way, but sometimes it might be different, depending on a situation.
I would go with s4 rear +quad exhaust (each muffler with 2 pipes sticking out) or USP rear.

Having a picture of your rear bumper before the accident and right after he hit it might be helpful if you decide to go through his dads shop. If they do a crappy job than maybe get cops involved? Definitely get some kinda agreement before you have them do work on it

I would get a police report, that way you have some kind of document showing the other person is at fault. If not later on it could be his word against yours. Check out the shop usually you can a get feeling of their work based on what you see. If it backfires file it thru the insurance. You have 30 days from the day of the incident to file a claim. Here in IL you have the right to take it to the body shop of your choice by state law.

Same in CT

I would go through insurance, its not like your premiums are going to go up. That way you can be sure your going to get it done right, the first time. There are a lot of BS body shops in this country that just like to move cars through, regardless of the quality of the work.
