Default Should I buy it?

I'm looking at buying this 03 a4 for under $1000 but I'm wondering if anyone knows what's wrong with it or if I should stay away from it

Here's the email I got ...

"Not exactly sure. It is misfiring on 2 cylinders so runs rough in low and idles rough but is fine on the highway. There is no coolant in the oil and it's not burning coolant so I don't think it's head gasket. Other than that I'm not sure. It does run and drive but needs someone with the time to put into it."

unless you know Audi's well and have some spare parts or a parts car around to swap back and forth I'm not sure taking on a project like this would be the best thing. Could be anything from head gaskets/warped head, timing belt issues to just a simple vacuum leak. Problem is you will go through a bunch of time and more money chasing all the possibilities not knowing where to start.

What kind of mileage does it have? I have an 03 a4 and have been looking for a parts car for a few major parts. If you end up passing on the vehicle I would appreciate some info about the vehicle in question. Any contact info for the person selling it? You can private message me with details.

Good luck!

Many defects can cause misfires; dirty injectors or marginal electrical connnections at the injectors, faulty coil packs, worn or damaged spark plugs, poor compression due to valve problems, etc. How about the check-engine light? Fault codes?? That's where to start.
