Default Snow build up

I have had some problems this winter with snow building up in the wheel wells. This causes excessive tire rub and can be quite annoying to listen to. Not only that but it's a PITA to stop ever 30 min to an hr, just to punch out all the snow. Has anyone else seen or had this issue? My hope is that the problem is caused by me needing new tires. They aren't bad, but only have a couple thousand miles left in them.

I 2 have had similiar problems with the snow buildup. In my case i am seeming to have a little bit of a shake, and noise when moving at higher speeds. The snow may be the problem, but im looking into other issues as well. The snow buildup is def. annoying, and seems to just **** things up in general.

Yeah it happens to me too. It's def a PITA!! Actually enough built up one day to finally pull the inserts out of the rearfenders..it wasn't to timely to put back in but still annoying. It's not because of needing new tires either because mine are new this season. I use an old 3 iron to knock the snow and ice out, it works alot better then you would think!

Default Snow Buildup Issue

I had this problem with my 2002 avant, occuring only on the passenger side...

found it to be missing a small plastic forward facing type foil which deflects the air travel. it is around 6 in in width and has a slight curve twards the whele side.

When replacing the oil and taking the under air deflector cover you can see them... on each side....

snow buildup definitely causes vibration.. when it gets packed in the wheels it throws them off balance...

If you know you're going to be out driving in snow, shoot some silicone oil on the inner fender. I've done that on shovels, works great especialy with the heavy wet snow.
