Starter Motor Removal?

Starter Motor Removal?
Does anyone know of a guide of some sort on removing the starter motor on an A4 B6 (2003 1.8T manual in my case?) I have searched all over and can't find anything and although I have located the starter motor removal doesn't appear to be nearly as straightforward as I had hoped...positioning of components surrounding the motor seem to make it nearly impossible to access the bolts securing it without removing other parts first but I figured I would start a thread on here before I begin tearing things apart
Also I thought it might be wise to post some details on my problem just in case it turns out that my problem isn't a bad starter motor after all. This thread details all of the problems I have had leading up to where I am at with the car right now: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b6-...arting-177023/
Although the reason for my car suddenly dying again remains to be determined it seems to me that the starter motor decided to go at the same time and will need to be replaced before I can figure out what else might be wrong with it. Upon turning the ignition I can hear the starter motor running but it is not engaging the flywheel and there is no attempt to turn the engine over whatsoever. A mechanic friend of mine looked it over today and agreed that the first step would need to be to remove the starter motor and get it re-built or replaced but this is proving to be quite the challenge. Any input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
