H i all, I have a 2001 B5 1.8tqm and was thinking about trading in to get a newer B6 model (2003-2004). Just wondering if any one has done this recently and had any negative or positive experiences either way. Currently I have a 5 sp so I would be looking for that as well, and maybe one with the winter package.....Thanks

Nope, 04 USP's are 6spd, 04.5+ 1.8t's are 6spd, and 3.0's of all years years came in 6 spd. But 02's and 03 1.8t are 5 spd.

OP: B6 models are from 02-05. 05.5-08 is B7's. 2001's are as close to being B6's as any B5 so the only differnces you'll really see besides the shell and interior is that you'll keep a set of coil packs handy and you'll wake up one day and the window regulator will be broken.
