I think they want to keep people out of doing this job so they end up at dealers. There's the tool. With it it is a lot easier

 

Gabby. I am getting close to my first timing belt/water pump replacement on my 02 B6. Believe me, I am very apprehensive and your post and pics were a great help. Girl or guy, working on an Audi is always a challenging endeavor.

Thank you Gabby. I have done some work to my car but I have never done a waterpump/timing belt change and I had no idea about those hidden bolts. F*** off to those who are down talking you. This I know will take me a while because like I had said, I'm new to this but it'll be worth it. Thank you once again.
