Default Top won't work, windows stuck down, no keyles

Hi I bought a 2004 A4 convertible yesterday. It is absolutely gorgeous inside and out but was sold to me because the top won't work..information display says convertible soft top cannot be used at this time. The windows are stuck down and will not go up. The key fob will not lock or unlock or open trunk, and trunk button in car will not release trunk. power seats will recline and go up and down but will NOT go forward or backward, both seats. Everything else appears to work great. The car had about 6 inches of water in the floor so I am thinking a module or two that could be not working or fuses? Any help would be most appreciated. I would like to avoid the dealer if possible. Thanks! Its great to have an Audi again!

No offense but not many people like the cabriolet, myself included, so there aren't a lot of people here that own one.
I can say if you have problems with your seats and windows its gonna be the comfort control module under the seat because its been submerged with water. It may also affect the top operation, but thats most likely a seperate problem. Those tops are problematic pieces of crap IMO. If one switch or sensor has a fault, it shuts the operation of the top off. Get your owner's manual out and study the top's functions. There is a key behind the fuse box that lets you manually lock the top if it has a malfunction.

No offense taken, although I am not quite sure why it is that "most people" don't like the cabriolet. When looking for an A4, it seems to me the convertibles sold at higher prices and didn't seem to last long when one did come available leading me to believe quite the opposite. However, you do know the members of this site way better than I do and though you don't like my car, I still appreciate you taking the time to answer my post. I love mine and love the way it is built. I agree the problem is most likely the comfort module and I found it at 273.00 brand new so I consider that reasonable. I think I will find some used when i start looking. The convertible top module is also located at "water level" in the rear right side panel. So I ordered Ross Tech upgrade to my old ross tech package just today. I also ordered there hardware. So according to them, I will be able to easily troubleshoot the problem and recode the new modules. I don't think this is going to be a huge problem for me at this point. But the dealers around here are really jerks about the parts. They won't even give out a part number for fear you may buy the part somewhere other than them. That made me even more determined to just repair it myself. This is my second audi, I had an A6 sedan and loved it also.

Well i didn't mean people don't like the cab, i should have said "enthusiasts" don't really like them because of the weight. Cabs weigh a few hundred lbs. more than the sedan and have a lot more maintenance to them, like the tops always break LOL.
You can do anything with a vag com, its basically a reversed engineered version of the dealer's VAS 5051/5052 scan tool which tips the scales at $5,000. So $400 for a vag cable really is a good investment.
I would remove the top module and look for water and corrosion on the electrical pins before ordering one up, those are notorious for sensor problems, so it might not even be damaged.
However, if the vag com doesn't communicate with it.......no real diagnostics necessary.

Thanks for the information. I will be troubleshooting this on friday if I receive everything by then. I am anxious to get the problem figured out so I can get on with ordering the parts. I am hoping to find these modules used.
