Unhappy Torque Converter & Timing Belt Service

Need some advice. I got 89,000 miles on my A4 v6 quattro

I need to get my Torque Converter Replaced, (I've had the torque converter error code for sometime now) and the Timing Belt Service done ASAP. Good bye tax return ...

I got a quote for the timing belt kit and labor which includes belts, water pump, rollers, tensiners. for $1,200. These seems good according the the post in this thread:
https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b6-models-70/a4-3-0-timing-belt-help-94057/

Now for the torque converter the part is $900 and the labor is $1,300. This seems a bit high considering the Audi dealer quoted me $2,800 for this.

What have other people paid recently for the Torque Converter and labor for this?
Any suggestions on where to buy the Torque Converter myself and have them install this?

Mechanics would the the labor time be cut down if doing both the Timing Belt Service and torque converter at the same time? They are saying it will take 13 hours for the torque converter and 9 hours for the timing belt. Aren't these things in the same area?

Not in the same area at all. TB is at the front of the motor, torque conv is in the front of the transmission.
