Towbar electrical wiring questions
HI all,
I recently bought a Witter towbar origionally removed from an Audi a4 s-line 2006 saloon.
It has come with a wiring kit which consists of:
Ryder TF1170-2 Smart Combi Relay (For accessory socket)
Ryder TF 2218 Ultrasmart Bypass (for towing socket)
Details of above can be found here:
http://photos.imageevent.com/russpix...al%20Guide.pdf
(p26 for the TF2218)
Now i would appreciate some advice, as looking at the wiring instructions it appears fairly straight forward. However...
Looking at the wiring as is, its as follows
The green wire that goes to the car wiring loom (RH flasher) is cut, as is the red wire for the brakes
There is a grey wire and a white wire (earth) that both go to earth, one grey wire seems to be "spare"
All the other wires that should go into the loom (Yellow, Black, Blue, Brown) are joined together, and become two wires (blue & Black) which go on for miles! (im assuming to the front of the vehicle)
Now my question is this...
Im fitting it to a A4 B6 2001. So do i disregard what has already been done with the wiring and start afresh, and wire it in as the instructions suggest?
Would a S-Line 2006 use CAN-BUS, thus explaining the odd current wiring?
With regard the TF1170-2 im happy with that and know what to do, its just the lighting bypass that has me baffled.
Just so you know, im fairly mechanically competant, just a little confused.
If anyone can offer me some advice i would appreicate it.
Many Thanks
Daz
