Trunk won't open
I have a 2004 Audi A4 Cabriolet that the trunk won't open. I tried the key fob, the door switch and the trunk key and it makes the accuator noise but won't open. I have tried push and pulling while I was doing with no luck. Does anyone know of any emergency ways to get it to open or have a suggestion to how to get to work without bringing into the dealer? Thanks in advance...
You shouldn't hear an accuator noice while using your key. Its strickly mechanical. (at least that is how mine is...maybe the cabrio different). With mine, if I turn the key clockwise, it locks the trunk. Counter-clockwise unlocks and opens the trunk at the same time.
The only other thing I could suggest would be to lower your back seats, crawl into the trunk, and pull the emergency release lever that on the inside of the trunk lid.

I have this problem with my S4 Cab and it occurs only when the car has been in the sun. The activator sounds like it is being triggered but the trunk won't open. If I let it cool down in the garage or in the shade, the trunk will then open with the fob. Something must be expanding and restricting the proper operation of the activator or something that releases the latch.
