Default Whachoo Use To Support Engine?

I'm scheduled to do a clutch replacement for my car in a couple weeks and I'm wondering what ppl use to support the engines while doing similar jobs. I've heard of ppl making stuff out of wood and spare metal tubing...

an engine support brace isn't that expensive.

Your out of your mind if you go near the engine being supported by a piece of wood.

I would recommend a brace, as Audi Tek said. Use this write-up if you need, Assuming you have a 1.8.
