i have a '04 A4 1.8t Quattro and it's now around 79K miles, just curious is there anything major i should keep in mind with the car at this point.

I have heard some problems w/ the turbo with the 1.8t model at high mileage., but not really sure what's up specifically.

Anyone want to share any thoughts?

Unless you have some turbo problems there is no need to replace one.
The basic symtpom of the bad turbo is when you hear that sound very familiar to a dentist's drill.

already did the belts/pump/etc

 

If u get a chance, check the rear differentials, if there is any oil

 

change the oil often and use the large oil filter to prevent sludging which will kill more then just your turbo.

 

You're not in the high milage zone yet. A K03s may crap out at 150,000 if you take good care of your car.
