Default Wiring Sub's and Amp for my car

I have a 2004 Audi A4, I already have an aftermarket deck installed and i'm gonna try and wire the sub's and amp tomorrow. I have all the tools i'll need as well as an amplifier wiring kit. The main question I have is where is the best place to run my power cable from the battery to the deck? I watched a video on youtube and the guy ran it through the door jam but I heard that can be dangerous. Feel free to give me any general tips & tricks as well because this is my first time wiring a car for subs.
Thanks guys

Also another question I have is do I have to disconnect my old stock sub when I wire up the new ones? I have a stock one in the back I think its like an 8 inch or maybe even 10. I'm wiring two ten's in a box into the trunk.

do disconnect the stock sub. OR you will be left with rattling. I had my power wire run along the door channel then thru the gromment in the firewall to the batt.

In the fire wall on the drivers side to the left of the ecu lower section, and run your sub? Not your deck from the battery ....and you can run your rem wire from the factory amp just test the wires to see which on gets 12v when the ignition is turned on , and run your wire along the floor board and under your back seat into the trun area
