Yellow Low Oil Warning Light
Hi guys,
First off, I searched the forums without finding an answer that really met the following question (though maybe I missed it):
I have a 2002 A4 3.0 and I just turned it on today to be greeted by a yellow low oil warning symbol in the information box (not the red oil pressure symbol). I immediately turned the vehicle off. I'm curious roughly how many miles I could drive the car without causing any significant damage. There's an oil shop (Jiffy Lube) roughly 1.1 miles from my home, and I was wondering if it's safe to drive the car there to get an oil change. I would rather not change the oil myself (no bedpan, low car and no jacks, etc.).
Thanks,
Andrew

does the oil show up on the dipstick? if it does its safe to drive. Where is the oil going? see if you can find a leak, or get the jizzy lube guys to try to find one. You really dont need a change if it was just done, just top it off.
