Default yellow brake warning light

The Brake pad warning light came on so I looked into the pads and found that the rear ones were worn drivers on the side. Replaced them and the light is still on. I see nothing else wrong with the front pads, why is the light still on. Yes I had the rotors resurfaced on the rear.

The rear pads do not trigger the light. They are triggered by the front pads. There is a wire embedded in the inside front pad and when the pad gets thin enough the wire wears through and triggers the light. The other thing which can trigger the light is if the connector between the brake pad sensor and the car comes loose or gets corroded to the point where no current can flow. First check the two front inside pads visually. If they are both thicker than 5mm then it is not the pads. Next disconnect each of the sensor wires one at a time and short the two pins on the car side and start the car. When the light goes out you will know which is bad. Next measure the resistance between the two pins of the wire going the pad. It should be close to zero. If it is not then the sensor wire in the pad is broken, if it is close to zero then the connector is probably corroded.
