Default 2.0 (ALT engine) oil consumption

2006 A4 B7
2.0 96kW (ALT engine)
178000km (~110000miles)

Car has been serviced only in Audi official services according to maintaince schedule.I drive appr. 50km (31miles) a day 7 days a week.

Problem: After about 4000-5000km (~3100miles) low oil level will appear on dashboard. About half a litre of oil will solve the problem for about next 4000-5000km.

Car works properly, doesn´t smoke, engine sound is good, no changes in performance etc. On closer look at the engine, no oil leaks can be discvered. Everything seems clean and dry.

Have you owned this car for some time now and this issue just started, or are you a new owner of this car and now after x amount of miles behind the wheel you are reporting this issue?

It's just the way these engines are. They burn a bit of oil. No, they really shouldn't being a luxury car, but it's a known problem and not a huge deal. Just keep a quart of oil in your trunk and check the oil level every so often and add as necessary. That's why there's an oil dipstick there Some burn more oil than others too.

I just had my turbo replaced on my a4 b7 quattro. I reset the mileage and made sure I was full of oil. I just checked it now at 837 miles and I was halfway down the dipstick. That seems a little much to me. It has 107000 miles on it. Correct me if I am wrong but when I get a low oil light there is only about 1 or so quartz in the engine. What else could be wrong with it?

I had them diagnose the issue at a shop up the street from me. There was oil in the intercooler from the turbo. I just had the turbo replaced. I am confused now.

I'm not positive with the oil light, but BETWEEN the add and full marks on the dipstick, that "safe zone" equals about 1 quart. Now whether or not the oil light comes on when it gets to the add line is something I don't know (I check my oil regularly and it doesn't burn much to begin with).

Well I have had the oil light come on once before the turbo was swapped. So if I am half way down the dip stick, this means around 1600 miles and I would be at min oil?To get back to the full mark it takes 1.5 quarts of oil. To me this seems to be alot right?

I average ~250 miles a week on my 2007 2.0I, and have to add oil each weekend and after 5 weeks or so I am buying another quart. When I first bought the car over 4 years ago it was not as bad, maybe a quart every 8 weeks.
Absolutely ridiculous.
