Hi all, first post! ..looking at a 2005.5 Audi A4 3.2L for my son. private sale very very clean car, and well taken car of. Seller works for BMW, and takes care of the car himself. He was about 50... Car had been sitting a month, and had engine noise for about 20 secs, then cleared up and ran very smooth. He said it was due to sitting a month...it was obvious it was sitting, and said daily or weekly use you wont hear it....subsequent start ups were fine and the test drive was fine, lotta power and very smooth. 96k miles loaded heated front and back seats, leather is perfect, no door dings or scratches, which is amazing.....Xenons $8600 about $650 under clean trade in. Thoughts? Thanks much

 

Although I have not had my A4 very long, (about a year) from experience my 3.2 can be a little loud on start up. I believe it is from the FSI engine. I've had many VW/Audi products and other German vehicles. My 2.0T A4 is also a little loud on start up but smooths out quickly. I much prefer the 3.2 over the 2.0T as I have had very little problems with the 3.2. My 2.0 is another story (oil consumption, turbo issues etc...) the raw power of the 3.2 I like better, but if tuned the 2.0 has more potential. I've put on 30,000 miles on my 3.2 in the past year and average 30 MPG for an all wheel drive 6 cylinder that is exceptional. I don't think your son or you would be disappointed in the A4 as long as it has been maintained.
