Default 2005.5 Audi A4 B7 Battery Replacement

i was wondering if someone could provide me with some clarification regarding battery replacement in a 2005.5 (B7) A4 as there is much conflicting information out there on this issue.

When replacing batteries in other cars I have owned I usually use a battery saver connected to the OBDII terminal (or cigarette lighter) to prevent power loss to radio etc. My A4’s battery needs replacement and I’m cautious in doing it myself as info I have seen seems to indicate the radio, keyfob and other re programming will be necessary. Can someone advise me if a battery saver connected to the OBDII terminal makes the battery replacement “plug and play” without any type of reprogramming?

It also seems from what I read that the Audi OEM battery (my car is on its second OEM battery) has a vent tube connected to it that aftermarket batteries do not include. Is that true?

Any help in these questions would be greatly appreciated.

Just replaced mine (well, had Walmart due it). I had my battery disconnected and didn't lose any programmed items (radio for example). After the battery was replaced I did have to reprogram my clock, but that was it. Mine did not have a vent, but I did see that some do. Guessing that the replacement doesn't need it.
