Question A4 Defects if any

Hi Dear Members,

I am about to buy an Audi A4 1.8T with automatic box. it is a 2006 model. I thought I would ask you guys what you think about this car and tell me if it is a good model or not regrading mechanical or other faults . I am used to Japenese cars which are very reliable and since I never had an Audi I would like to know (especially about the gearbox) if mechanical failures are common in these cars.

This is my first post and your views are highly appreciated.

Regards

It's a good car. Obviously any car model can have a few lemons, but I haven't heard of any widespread issues.

BTW, where are you from? In the US at least they switched to 2.0T in 2005.5.

I have a 2005.5 2.0T and absolutely love the car. I picked it up 6 months ago with 16k miles so I don't have too much experience with any problems. From reading the forums I don't see too many repeat issues, just the normal items that pop up in any car. Most importantly, the car is a blast to drive and I couldn't picture myself in anything else.

Good luck.
