Another Oil Leak - 07 Audi A4
Hi Everyone,
I think I am upon my second oil leak with the car having it only 4,000 miles. It is an 2WD Audi A4 with 34,000 miles.
I am not 100% sure if this is coming from the same place, but I had a significant leak that I had fixed about a month ago that was coming from the Vacuum Pump (not a car buff) on the right side of the engine and dropping down to the axle on the drivers side. The leak appeared to go completely away, but I noticed today that there was some oil to the right of the turbo accumulating on a black square piece of metal with a tube of some kind running over it that appears to have quite a bit of oil. I've attached the picture of what I am looking at. It is hard to see the oil accumulation, but its the area to the right and slightly down from exhaust/turbo.
Any help would be greatly appreciated to where this may be coming from.
Thanks!
Ryan

I can see the oil. Do you smell any burnt oil? Might be dripping on to the exaust. The turbo is to the right and out of view of the picture. I've looked at an engine diagram for the transverse version of the engine, and it makes me wonder if it might be the oil return line. I could be wrong, but positioning the engine front to rear, instead of sideways like in the diagram I saw, changes the position of some items on the engine making some items harder to identify.
I do not smell any burning oil. I think it could be the original leak that is leaking again as I was able to see a drip that landed on the driver side axle (the large Silver Circle device down by the wheel) The place I had taken it said it was a seal on the Vacuum pump. Could it be that the oil that landed over there could be residue from that leak blowing around? I cleaned that spot in the picture and do not see any new oil after driving it a day.
Where exactly is that Vacuum pump and is that feasible that it could be leaking oil?
Thanks so much for replying!
